My education, training and business experience
As a certified metrologist I'm pretty sure you don't care about my training. Who knows what metrology is in the first place? (It's about measuring, not weather, just for the record.)

My education and/or training that you care about is many, many years of seat-of-the-pants experience in designing branded materials for many different small businesses. I have worked for printers in nearly every capacity (from setting up the books and pricing, to graphic design, to running the press, to managing a 35-person production staff) since 1989. Most of what I've learned is from doing.

An important part of the on-the-job learning is a true understanding of all the different types of printing there are and how to design for the process used to print each specific product.

Honestly, do you know the difference between a duplicator, a commercial printing press, a web press, and a flexographic press? Do you care? If you needed something printed would you know which process you need? Or what the pitfalls are of your design? I do! And I can help you get what you want without making you learn all that.

When I m not working, I enjoy .
Currently my biggest hobby is painting pottery.

I have always loved art and somewhere along the way I discovered that I actually am an artist. (God alone knows why I didn't figure that out sooner.) But I've also learned that it's 3 dimensional art that I really love... Sculpture!

Pottery is a way to do 3 dimensional art with the resources available where I am. Some day I hope to move into welding and glass blowing.

Oh, and then there's my annual calendar. It's 3D in that it's 3 dimensional rendered art (think Pixar). 13 new images every year, published as a 13-month calendar. Ask me about it if you want to see some of my work. (You might also be interested in the 1000+ holidays included in it. Something fun to celebrate every single day!)

The other big deal in my world is just getting together with friends to share good conversation, good food, and lots of games, fun, and laughter.

I am currently running my own open networking group:

A Leg Up - Small Business Networking

We meet monthly for a Lunch & Learn where our members get a chance to connect with each other as well as learning something useful to help move their business forward. We've been meeting, free to the members, in Modesto since February 2018. We are listed on Meetup.com and invite all small business people to join us. We have over 200 members online.

(Because we are an open group where anyone can join, no exclusivity, this does not infringe on Gold Star so we encourage you to check us out. We meet the first Wednesday of the month at noon. We are listed on Meetup.com.)
