I have a tailor shop and alterations service in Modesto that provides quality industry standard garment alterations, tailoring and bespoke custom garments. We specialize in bridal alterations, menswear tailoring and creating bespoke garments made to a client's measurements. We have gained success by ensuring our alterations are of the highest standards and by treating clients with friendly old-fashioned customer service. Our motto has always been "Pride in professional and personal service and workmanship" and our slogan is "From as big as a ball gown to as small as a button, if it needs to be sewn come to see Avery Thompson, Modesto's personal tailor!". |

| My education, training and business experience
I have sewn at the professional level for twelve years. I have worked alongside many talented people in this industry, gaining valuable experience, which I have combined with my love for reading to learn as much as possible about my craft. I have had my current business since 2018 and have worked the majority of my adult worklife in sewing. |

| When I m not working, I enjoy . When not working, I enjoy collecting antique industrial sewing machinery and sewing ephemera. This has lent itself well to my store because my entire suite of machinery is either vintage or antique. I also collect antique clothing, and frequently travel around northern California to open air markets or swap meets to find those garments. I enjoy travelling, particularly to historical sites, to see museums, try new foods, and experience interesting culture. |
