The Trident for us symbolizes our three-pronged approach to firearms and self defense training. They are: Safety! What we teach must be safe, there are no second chances with safety. Next, Economy of Motion. We teach the principles of motion economy in our training; efficiency is a must. Gun fights are not long events. If you are in a gun fight it will be over quickly! "Get it out! Get it on! Get it over!" Finally, Does it work in the real world? What we teach will work in the real world, including low light environments. The "square range mentality" can get you killed. Self defense shootings do not occur on shooting ranges, they can happen anywhere. We feel you need to be prepared for that. We train people to survive. We train with handguns (revolvers and semi-automatics), rifles/carbines (semi-automatic, lever action, bolt action, and precision rifles), and shotguns (pump action and semi-automatic). The trident also represents the three part focus of our training: Gun Handling - Gun handling is the first step of safely handling a firearm. Marksmanship - Teaching someone how to hit their target is a little more challenging, still not too difficult, with most people. Mindset - One of the most challenging parts of firearms, and self defense training. The vast majority of people do not want to ever be forced to hurt another person. However, when the time comes we must be able to defend ourselves, those we love, and those we are responsible for. |

| My education, training and business experience
All of our instructors are either California POST (Police Officer's Standards of Training) certified, or National Rifle Association (Law Enforcement Division) Instructors, or California Department of Justice Firearm Instructors. I am also a recognized Subject Matter Expert in Firearms, Use of Force, Gun Manufacturer Identification, as well as a number of other subjects (mostly associated with gangs, gang members, and gang behavior). |

| When I m not working, I enjoy . I enjoy photography, and writing. I am published with Law Enforcement Technology Magazine, and Officer.com. One of these days I do intend to write a book, non-fiction, I think. When I have free time. |
